In this course, educators will learn how to support the needs of adolescent and young adults, helping them develop into confident, and independent readers and writers. Focus will be on the improvement of literacy skills through meaningful, constructive engagements in reading and writing.
Hi Everyone, need some help with these pictures...so thank you Dr Rivera...Yes...Motheread Fatheread was a greate experience. All the components of teaching literacy was there and the participants, after they warmed up to us, were quite gregarious. We learned so much from them...In the end, I felt very special as they invited Shirley and myself back again...
ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome, Jess! As a trained Motheread Facilitator myself, I know the positive impact the program has made for countless families. I'm glad that you and Shirley were able to immerse in the literacy activities. I encourage you to continue to participate in the program again. Kudos to both of you!
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Dr. Rivera
Thanks Dr. Rivera!
ReplyDelete(I didn't know you were a Facilitator.)
Yes, it's a great program! I was happy to see that fathers were highly represented. It shows that they want to improve themselves, and the literacy level of their children.
I would highly recommended this to my ESL students.
I'm wondering if this could be worked into a Service Learning Project for future students as well.
