Literature Circle and Grafitti Board
The graffiti board was alot of fun and hope to have the digital photos of what we came up with. Our Literature circle was not quite what I expected. I was thinking that we were to discuss the story using the activities so that we could experience the use of these activities and then write how we would use it in the classroom. But, I do look forward to our next literature circle and to move forward with the interdisciplinary unit. CV has many great ideas, with the group so large, we may want to break it down to 3-4 in each team working on the interdisciplinary unit, just a suggestion.

Jess,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you enjoyed the graffiti board activity. I look forward to viewing the digital photos of your group work.
Keep in mind that aside from that specific literature circle reflection, we have our ongoing online literature circle. Since this is mainly an online course, the literature circle is set up with responses to be made online. You are to discuss not only the reader response activities, but also the other handouts, PowerPoint presentations, etc. In a face-to-face class, students would physically get together in a circle and discuss the topics. The only difference is that we are meeting online to discuss the topics.
There is an exception though, for particular Moodle forums that request for you to meet with a couple of your classmates in order to carry out a literacy strategy, such as the graffiti board activity. Follow the instructions that are listed in the Moodleroom. Particular reading strategies are meaningful with interaction, and therefore the Moodle forum may request for such.
The Interdisciplinary Unit requires that you meet together, whether it be online or face-to-face to complete at least a 2-week unit with respective cohort members assigned to the different content areas to finalize the activities, standards, etc., as indicated in the PowerPoint samples. Eventually, one PowerPoint presentation containing all the content area activities will have to be submitted. Good luck!
Best regards,
Dr. Rivera
