12 JULY 2011

Today was an interesting day because we had 2 of our Cohort members come in ready and prepared to start on our Graffiti Board. This was to express our feelings about chapter 1 in the book " Under the Blood-Red Sun." Randall, Robito, and I put together a few of our ideas in regards to what we took from that chapter. Of course we started with the Japanese Flag hanging from a clothesline and we wrote a few words to express our truly feelings about the topic.
I felt that Tomi was not thankful to be who he was because he confronted his Grandfather for being proud of where he comes because he was worried with what the neighbors might say. Tomi's grandpa refused to conform and remained proud and he was a very strong character in the story. Randall did feel bad for Tomi because he kept bringing up how people from a certain race/nationality are strereo-typed just for being a certain nationality.
