First Week's Blog

I was a little confused for a while on what we were supposed to blog about. I didn't know whether we were supposed to post our Moodle discussion topics on blogger. I kind of felt the redundancy between blogger and Moodle forums. I had military drill this weekend, which always leaves me exhausted and feeling out of place from the real world. So it took me even longer to realize that we can blog about our experiences doing our assignments and reading the resources provided for us in Moodle for the week. Hopefully, one of you, including Dr. Rivera, will correct me if I'm wrong. To add to my confusion, it also took me time to learn how to post a blog. I'm not technologically savvy so my brain takes awhile to process all of the information I'm having to learn in this class and my IT class. Hopefully, from now on I will not be having anymore trouble posting on time. I still have two more blogs to catch up on in this class.

The first week of reading the book "Under the Blood Red Sun" and commenting on it was fun. I also had fun writing my introduction as well as reading about what my classmates had written about themselves. It was a great way to get to know everyone. Writing my reflection on the first four chapters of the book gave me a chance to look back at the time I lived in Hawaii. The book brought back a lot of fun and tough times. Those were the days when I lived on my own and struggled through some days of financial hardships. But those were also days of memorable times I spent with new friends.

  1. Thank YOU!! I'm so glad to know that was not the only one who couldn't see how to post a blog. I could respond, but not post an original.
I have heard the exercises are exhausting. I have several military friends. I make notes on book as I read. Even though I BOUGHT my book, am still resistant to writing IN it.
How nice that you could relate to some places and events mentioned in the book.

  2. Jane,

Congratulations on your first posting!  Please refer to the ED641 Calendar of Events and Moodleroom activities regarding the required class blog postings.  Also, please note that the Moodleroom focuses on specific topics, whereas the ED641 class blog/learning log (Activity 10) focuses on a more holistic reflection of the overall Moodleroom activities, online collaboration/expression pertaining to class requirements, strengthening of writing skills, and other class ideas beyond the Moodleroom activities.  Don't forget to also respond to your 4-5 of your classmates' entries per week. Good luck!

    Best regards,
    Dr. Rivera
