Graffiti Fun!

I forgot to show off our version of the graffiti board that PJ, Shirleen, and myself have done, so here it is! We each displayed what we felt "proud" about which represents how Tomi's Grandpa felt about the Japan flag and what his nationality was. Some of us drew things that represented what we thought of when we are in our peaceful state, just the way Tomi felt when he and Billy were in diamond grass before the bombing took place. It was indeed a great way to share how each of us understood the story. I think I'll definitely use this activity in my health class (and possibly PE) this year!

  1. Renee,

You, PJ, and Shirleen, did an awesome job! You will certainly engage your students using this literacy activity in your Health/PE class! Way to go!

    Best regards,

  2. This activity was a lot of fun! I've always enjoyed drawing. It's a great outlet for stress, emotions, and ideas.

  3. It's a really nice graffiti board, girls. My eye keeps getting drawn to the girl with her mouth taped up. Dunno if it's just because you drew it in orange of it is just so dynamic, but I keep getting the urge to yell, "A damsel in distress! I'll save you!" Then jump over there, tear the tape off her mouth and say, "You are safe, now. Everything will be alright." Dunno, maybe just the comic book nerd in me talking.
