Hafa adai fellow history junkies!
I'm in a good mood, because I just turned in my lesson plan draft. I'm feeling a little lighter!
I remember this a while back and it's if Facebook existed back in the day.
I thought it was brilliant.
Be forewarned though, there is a bit of swearing, and swaggering.
WWII on facebook
This other one is a spoof on military strategies. Genius.
tic-tac-toe.
Even though you may not be into history, I still think you would get a kick out of this.
Enjoy! I certainly did.
In this course, educators will learn how to support the needs of adolescent and young adults, helping them develop into confident, and independent readers and writers. Focus will be on the improvement of literacy skills through meaningful, constructive engagements in reading and writing.
Both of those had me rolling. The Facebook one took a while to read, but, I swear, I wanted it to keep going into the cold war. I wanted to see USA and USSR start to flame each other, Cuba returning to poke USA, and Vietnam "FML"ing his life with USA.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. It was great!
Too Funny!! Gosh Shirley, how do you find these things? Wouldn't it be funny if all these Presidents from these countries were in Facebook and also playing tic tac toe. Wish it could be that easy in life. Thanks for sharing. It was good reading
ReplyDeleteThis is very creative. I thought it was extremely funny.
ReplyDeleteHaha ya Randall
ReplyDeletecold war into Reaganomics with USA. It could go on and on!
I'm actually thinking of a lesson plan incorporating this. After a lesson, they can role-play a country or character from history, and duke it out facebook style. It's like a character journal being played out on a social network.
Heya Geri. I have dorky nerd friends (my people!) who know my taste in the intellectually absurd. There is more stuff out there, but this is the best one (in my opinion) and most relevant to the book. If you want more just "google" facebook in history, facebook back in the day or something like that. Just warning you, some may find in offensive, (I found it hilarious) and nothing is sacred. It is all in light-hearted fun.
What a great idea Shirley!
