I'm actually enjoying being stressed out while experiencing my first on-line course. I feel like its the only way to get my heart pumping faster since I don't ever have time to work out, which I had planned to do this summer. I got all my workout equipment, and built a mini-makeshift gym near my home computer. Now, all I have to do is find that little gadget that holds magazines on a treadmill, and may be I can communicate on-line while working up a sweat.
As the days progress, I have been fortunate to gain more insight and perspective, not only about the topics in class, but also on how to survive this type of distance education-class. One of our classmates, PJ, showed me in class today how she is able to keep track. She just printed out the class syllabus and the class schedule and wrote in additional notes to help her. That visual made all the activites in the class look more managable and simple. Thanks PJ!
In this course, educators will learn how to support the needs of adolescent and young adults, helping them develop into confident, and independent readers and writers. Focus will be on the improvement of literacy skills through meaningful, constructive engagements in reading and writing.
Wonderful, Arlene! I'm glad that PJ took the time to share her organization strategy with you. Being organized certainly makes a difference! With much determination, you will do fine in this online course. Good luck with your workout, and hang in there!

Anytime! We are in it together and we all want each other to succeed.
ReplyDeletePJ,
ReplyDeleteI love that motto you have, "We are in it together!" Kudos to all of you!

Thanks for sharing this great tip on organization. I'm going to do the same. It's so much easier when you have a syllabus and calendar of events to refer back to, especially when your brain is everywhere and not just in this course. Thanks, PJ, for sharing your strategy with Arlene. And thanks, Arlene, for blogging about it!
ReplyDeleteThanks PJ and Arlene, you two are awesome classmates!
