Literacy organizations on Guam
You know Google is a wonderful search engine, I googled literacy organizations on Guam and lo and behold, what a plethora of information. I was able to contact the Guam Humanities Council for Motheread. They are doing village outreach seminars. They posted their calendar of events. I also received an email regarding my inquiry on how to participate with this program. I got a quick response and hope to have more information by tomorrow. So if anyone is interested in this literacy organization, I will have more then...

Jess,
ReplyDeletePlease be sure to post the information on the Motheread activities on our class blog. Motheread is a wonderful family literacy program that has made an impact in promoting literacy nationwide.
Best regards,
Dr. Rivera
I will have more by tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great organization! I'm going to google it after I'm done with this site. I tried searching for literacy or reading events but didn't find any current information (other than the Agana Public Library Saturday story time). The Guam International Reading Association (IRA) doesn't have any information for summer. Anyway, I'm looking forward the reading your Motheread update.
ReplyDeleteI want in on this, Jess. It sounds like worthy endeavor.
ReplyDeleteI hope you take a look at my Motheread update...this is a national organization and possibly a great way to participate in helping with literacy on Guam...
ReplyDeleteI was going to go on Saturday to the Agana Library for the session there, but it turns out Sanchez's practice for the Praxis II is on that day. I might have to see about this Motheread endeavor instead.
